Claire, great thoughts on SSR 2.0! As you mentioned, we need to expose our students to all forms of reading, including digital text. As has been mentioned many times, this form generates a high interest level especially when they can personalize their reading experience with their own interest level. You are doing an awesome job with this course. I cannot wait to see what ideas you come up with to implement within your own classroom. I think if I had a porch like you did I might actually get more of these tasks completed. I would never want to leave it.

The scribe is something that was tried year before last by one of our teachers. It was difficult for it to work at our level. The idea, however, is a fabulous one. I agree…you do have clear and concise posts.

I worry that I am too brief and concise! But that is just where I’m at right now. I think it is just a question of style. I wish I could be more narrative!

Great thoughts – and fabulously brief and concise comments. That is one of my challenges in learning to communicate in this web2.0 arena. Brief and concise learning, brief and concise posting, allowing brief and concise thinking. Now – I need to cut this comment so that it is brief and concise!

I am a coach for the group from the Hudson Valley Writing Project and I started clicking around reading new blogs. I found yours and as I read your post I thought, hey, I didn’t follow the assignment and like you I remember enjoying Steve’s article, so I went back to the article and read it again and added some of it to my post.
